Fact: Some people in relationships require more labour.
Please understand that some of your friends, partners, and family have disabilities, chronic illnesses, and mental illnesses. People who have these conditions will often need more labour and support from the people around them.
This labour can look like:
Someone with Bipolar Disorder needing understanding of the emotional complexities of such a disorder from their loved ones
Someone with disability needing physical help from their loved ones, such as grocery shopping or errand running
Someone with chronic illness often declining invitations, but still desiring to be invited out with their loved ones
Herein lies the problem of framing relationships as transactional: some relationships are inherently unbalanced in their labour-exchange. Truly being anti-capitalist means introducing the same politics into your relationships as well as your economics: Spread the wealth willingly and unconditionally.
